Notes from the President

The Omaha Symphony Guild supports the Symphony in many ways - as a volunteer base for its education programs, as a financial contributor, and as an organization whose members serve as ambassadors and advocates for the Symphony throughout the community.

Volunteerism:

Volunteers have been the foundation and strength of the Omaha Symphony Guild for over 50 years. The vitality of the Guild is measured by the energy and creativity of its members. The Omaha Symphony Guild can fit your interests and your schedule.  We invite YOU to become a member of our organization and help us support the Omaha Symphony Orchestra and its goals through our fundraising efforts and education programs.  We look forward to welcoming you to the Omaha Symphony Guild!

Fundraising:

Through the Omaha Symphony Guild`s fundraising efforts, we provide financial support for the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Omaha Area Youth Orchestra.  The main fundraising projects for the Omaha Symphony Guild for 2008-09 will be Music & Masterpieces, the Debutante Ball, and the Rhapsody into Spring shopping event and Table Art luncheon.  The funds raised from these projects will go to support the many education programs of the Omaha Symphony.

Education:

Education is the backbone of the service for the Omaha Symphony Guild. The Guild provides volunteer support for many of the Symphony education programs-Mission:Imagination, Instrument Petting Zoo, Celebrate Creativity, Margre Durham Concerts for Youth, Music Alive!, the New Music Symposium for Young Composers, and Carnegie Hall`s Communities LinkUP!  Through our support of all these engaging and interactive programs, the Guild helps the Omaha Symphony provide a newfound knowledge and appreciation for orchestral music and the arts to over 35,000 young people in eastern Nebraska, western Iowa, and beyond.
